Alberto Gieco

Alberto Gieco es director, guionista y productor de cine que vive entre Santa Fe (Argentina) y Los Ángeles (USA).
Escribió, dirigió y produjo los largometrajes De la piel suave (2025) y El infierno de los vivos (2024) y el cortometraje La frontera del deseo (2024). Fue director asistente en El viaje de Eliseo (Matías Médici, 2025), productor asociado en El mensaje (Iván Fund, 2025. Oso de Plata-Premio del Jurado, Berlinale 2025) y actor en La mujer hormiga (Betania Cappato y Adrián Suarez, 2024).

Como miembro del Colectivo Audiovisual Fernando Birri de Santa Fe realizó Un carnaval llamado Despertar (2026) y Un carnaval llamado Resistencia (2025). Como miembro del Colectivo Antropología Teatral actuó en De Remate Now (Ana Woolf, 2025).

Asistente de dirección en más de 30 largometrajes entre los que se destacan Gregório de Matos (Ana Carolina, Brasil 2003), Chuck and Buck (Miguel Arteta, USA 2000), Amelia (Ana Carolina, Brasil 2000), How to Make the Cruelest Month (Keep Koenig, USA 1998), They Come at Night (Lindy Laub, USA 1998), First Love Last Rites (Jesse Peretz, USA 1997), The Foot Shooting Party (Annette Haywood-Carter, USA 1994), Jugando en los campos del señor (Héctor Babenco, USA 1991), Sonho de valsa (Ana Carolina, Brasil 1987), Vera (Sergio Toledo, Brasil 1987). Entre otras películas, fue continuista en Filme Demencia (Carlos Reichenbach, Brasil 1987), El beso de la mujer araña (Héctor Babenco, USA 1985), A hora da estrela (Suzana Amaral, Brasil 1985).

Co-dirigió Punks con Sarah Yakhni (São Paulo, 1983) y escribió y dirigió en Santa Fe los cortos Deseo (1975), En los extremos de la noche (1976) y A nuestros silencios I y II (1977).

Es miembro de la DGA (Directors Guild of America) como primer asistente de dirección. Fue profesor de cine y literatura en Los Ángeles.

As a member of the Fernando Birri Audiovisual Collective of Santa Fe, he made A Carnaval Called Awakening (2026) and A Carnaval Called Resistance (2025). As a member of the Theatrical Anthropology Collective, he acted in From Auction Now (Ana Woolf, 2025).
